Pocket Propeller
Pocket Propeller productions are skillfully filleted 60 minute versions of our full scale productions for younger audiences. Adapted by Roger Warren and Edward Hall, they started out visiting schools and smaller venues but are now reaching a wider audience both in the UK, Europe and Central America, taking in festivals and visiting organisations such as the Victoria and Albert Museum. The productions are accompanied by talkback sessions and sometimes workshops with the actors. As a designer, revisiting the productions and creating a ‘pack-up-in-a-transit van’ essence of the original show’s set and costume allows me to conceive of the play with the same powerful intimacy of the very first Propeller shows – Pocket Propeller takes the company back to its roots.
Each production has an accompanying education pack with sections on performing Shakespeare’s most challenging plays, their design, music composition and other key elements that contribute to the uniqueness of a Propeller production.
